Business man shot in jinja district by unknown assailants.

Business man known as peter muzira aged 34 resident of luzinga village , wankole subcounty kamuli district has been shot up by unknown assailants in jinja district today 13th march 2025 at around7:30am at valley separating luzinga and buwenge town council. The suspects travelling in a salon car trailed the victim and intercepted them at the valley shooting him instantly in the chest and the leg and dying on spot. 

Kiira regional police commander SSP Charles Nsaba has ordered for speedy joint security efforts to apprehend culprits involved in the shooting of business man . Peter Muzira boarded a boda boda enroute to Buwenge town council in Jinja district. Prior to that, the boda boda rider had a female passenger who boarded from Bubaale trading centre - Wankole sub county, Kamuli district. In the due course of the journey, Peter Muzira boarded the very motorcycle enroute to Buwenge town council

According to sp james mubi the kiira region spokesperson says Currently the boda boda rider and the other female passenger whose identities have been withheld in the interest of conducting thorough prosecution guided investigations are at CPS Buwenge assisting police with vital information. 

Nsaba went ahead clarifying  Robust Buwenge police station team led by the DPC SP Oyee Morris used speed to respond to the incident, four cartridges and a hood have retrieved from the scene. The alleged murders took all phones belonging to the deceased and his trousers and boxer. Intensive tracking is ongoing to trace the whereabouts of the suspect and subsequently establish the motive of the shooting.

Regional CID; SSP Dr Monday Johnson Agaba has reassured the family of the deceased person, colleagues, friends and all loved ones of the late that expeditious efforts are ongoing to ensure justice triumphs over evil. He has appealed to whoever has credible information regarding the incident to volunteer the very information to police. 

Dr Monday has strongly warned the assailants to surrender because evading justice is temporal given the strong capacity of Kiira region in handling dangerous and demanding situations. 

By the time of filing up , The body of the deceased had been taken to jinja regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem report.

Mariam Naigaga the Woman MP  has lost the National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairperson seat for Namutumba District to Simon Menya, who won by a wide margin. Dr. Tanga Odoi, Chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission, confirmed that the elections in Namutumba District were conducted smoothly and declared Simon Menya the duly elected NRM District Chairperson. Dr. Odoi clarified that only two positions—Vice Chairperson and Secretary for Publicity—will be contested on Tuesday, July 27, 2025, at Busoga Nsadhu. Jinja District Unveils 47.67 Billion Shilling Budget for 2025/26

By Kenneth Wamatoyi Jinja District Council has unveiled a proposed budget of 47.67 billion shillings for the financial year 2025/26, focusing on wages, infrastructure, and essential services. The budget, presented on March 25, 2025, at Jinja District Hall, is now under review by various district committees before final approval. The budget allocates 29.15 billion shillings (61.1%) to wages, 15.48 billion shillings (32.5%) for non-wage recurrent expenditures, and 3.04 billion shillings (6.4%) for capital development projects. Speaker Namukose Monica stated that councillors have been given time to review the budget and suggest amendments. The District Executive Committee (DEC) compiled the budget and submitted it to relevant committees for further scrutiny.
