MP Nandala Donates Food Items to Muslims and Mutufu Prison in Sironko.
The Member of Parliament for Budadiri West, Sironko
District, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, has donated Iftar food items to the Muslim
community in his constituency and to Mutufu Prison.
The donation, delivered on Wednesday by Rev. Jackson
Magombe, Nandala's personal assistant and Director of Operations at the Nandala
Foundation, included 4,700 kg of maize flour, 3,200 kg of sugar, an additional
100 kg of rice, 100 kg of sugar, and two cartons of soap for Mutufu Prison.
Speaking to this website, Rev. Magombe expressed
gratitude to the Muslim community for their positive relationship with the
Nandala Foundation and commended them for their cooperation and hospitality.
"This is something Hon. Nandala has been doing
every Ramadan. We appeal to you to accept this small donation and use it during
your fasting. This is not about politics; it comes from the bottom of his heart
because he does it every year," he said.
He further emphasized the importance of sharing,
quoting Islamic teachings: "Even if you have little, share with others.
You don’t have to be at Nandala’s level to give. Ramadan is a time for sharing
whatever you have."
While receiving the donation, Sheikh Abdul-Hakim
Nassur Mugoya, the District Kadhi for both Sironko and Bulambuli, appreciated
MP Nandala Mafabi for always thinking of the Muslim community, especially
during Ramadan.
"This act shows that we should have the heart to
think about others struggling to break their fast—not because we have plenty,
but because giving is a virtue. God loves a giving hand, and the more you give,
the more He blesses you," Mugoya said.
He urged Muslims to remain steadfast in their fasting
and continue doing good deeds as they approach the middle of Ramadan.
"God rewards every effort at the end, so let us
add more energy to our prayers, charity (Sadaqah), and helping one another.
When Ramadan is over, let us continue being good people," he added.
