15 YEAR OLD GIRL IN CUSTODY FOR ABORTING TWINS

BY KENNETH WAMATOYI.  A 15-year-old girl from Buwagi ward in the former Budondo sub county, now Jinja Northern Division in Jinja City has been arrested for allegedly undergoing an illegal abortion of 7 months , sparking a police hunt for those involved in the procedure. The minor whose identity has been held for ethical reasons, was reportedly misled by her 18-year-old boyfriend identified only as Rogers, a sugar cane loader who dropped out of school while in Primary Five. Bugiri Chief Magistrate's Court Sees Arraignment of Six Individuals on Corruption Charges

by our reporter On September 9, 2024, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and Criminal Investigations Department presented six defendants before the Chief Magistrate's Court in Bugiri.  The accused, comprising local government officials and PDM SACCO leaders, face charges of Obtaining Money by False Pretense and Conspiracy to Defraud. PRESIDENT MUSEVENI PLEDGES TO END CHURCH REGISTRATION CLASSIFICATION AS NGOS

President Museveni made the remarks yesterday during the Universal Church Mega Youth Crusade organised by Prophet David Isanga, the spiritual head of Universal Apostles Fellowship Church of Righteousness in Kaliro. The Crusade ran under the theme: “Remember Your Creator In the Days of Your Youth Before the Days of Evil Come Ecclesiastes 12:1”. Kumi Municipality Roadworks Monitoring Program Underway

by kenneth wamatoyi .  In the company of Kumi Municipality's technical and political leaders, we initiated a monitoring program to evaluate the progress of works on 12 roads, which received a portion of the 1 billion shillings allocated by the central government. This marks the beginning of our comprehensive monitoring program, which will eventually encompass 30 roads rehabilitated using the 1 billion shillings. During the inspection, Kumi RDC Ahamadah Washaki identified certain areas where the works fell short of expected standards, and he  directed the engineers to promptly address these deficiencies. The funds invested in these roadworks were made possible by a commitment from H.E. Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda and NRM National Chairman, to upgrade road infrastructure in accordance with the NRM Manifesto 2021-2026 implementation.

17-Year-Old Girl Arrested for Stealing 3-Month-Old Baby

Bulambuli police have arrested a 17-year-old girl, Khakhai Jennifer, for stealing a 3-month-old baby from Sipi Village, Bwikhonge Subcounty bulambuli district .   The incident occurred on 3rd sept 2026 at around 11:30 am when the mother, Nambuya Flavia, was attending prayers at a born-again church. According to Sp Rogers Taitika Elgon Region Police Spokesperson says the suspect stole the baby known as  Nambuya Faith, while the mother had left her in the care of a 10-year-old girl.  The baby was later recovered at Jesus Celebration Church in Muyembe Subcounty and handed over to the police, who returned her to her mother. Khakhai Jennifer, a resident of Busoba Village, Bwikhonge Subcounty, was traced and arrested in Mbale City and is currently being detained at Bulambuli Police Station for interrogation. Tororo police issue statement on a vivid murder case.

This incidence was reported by mabonga George aged 58 yrs old, a mugishu by tribe chairperson lc 1 Nyangole 'a' cell Nyangole ward, eastern division, Tororo municipality, Tororo district. The deceased was identified as Hawa Mariam Nubian by tribe business was murdered by unknown assailants in Tororo municipality. It's alleged that on the 02/09/2024 at around 18:30pm at Nyangole a' village one Hawa Mariam (deceased) was found lying down unconscious in her house with a wire cable of a flat iron tied around her neck and had an injury on her right eye. In an effort to promote skills and social economic life transformation, the Women Integrated Empowerment Development Group in Buwenda and Roho Uganda  Jinja City, has received various equipment’s. The donation, worth $650000, was handed over on September 3rd to support the group's business and improve their lives social economically  in the community. Dr byangu Abubakar from the Turkish embassy and coordination agency says these machines donated cost over 650,000 usd dollars donated to buwenda women initiative and Roho Uganda. Police Arrest Three Women for Nude Protest Against Corruption at Parliament

They are Praise Aloikin a Student of Law at Makerere University, Norah Tshetshe and Kemitoma Siperia Mollie, a former Guild leader . The trio, who had stripped naked, marched towards the parliamentary building carrying placards and chanting slogans condemning the rampant corruption among Members of Parliament. The protesters had also painted messages on their bodies in Uganda’s national colors, with phrases such as “Kiteezi was preventable,” “Anita Resign,” and a provocative statement, “Corruption fucked me so hard I am here to muon.” The parliamentary police quickly intervened, arresting the women and confiscating their placards. One was heard shouting, “Stop corruption, save the children, save the future,” while three female police officers dragged her away. Officials Start Monitoring of PDM, Emyooga Progress in Bugisu.

by Kenneth wamatoyi Officials from the Parish Development Model secretariat and Emyooga program started assessment of the PDM and Emyooga progress whose implementation seems to be delayed at the local administrative units (Districts), Municipalities and cities. Ms Ritah Namuwenge, Emyooga’s National Coordinator, said that, in Bulambuli, Manafwa, Namisindwa, Mbale City, Sironko, Mbale, and Bududa Districts that make up Bugisu Sub-region, the PDM program is slow. He called its upon leaders in different capacities to continue making the public understand the basics of PDM and Emyooga. Namuwenge made the remarks last Friday, while chairing the meeting at Bulambuli District Headquarters to evaluate the progress of the program and the disbursement of funds to the intended beneficiaries.  The meeting followed a recent stakeholders' meeting held at Mbale City Council, where the program's status was discussed.
